About Me
During my university career, I studied piano with Ronald Turini, Bernadene Blaha, Robert Silverman, and Jane Coop. I earned degrees at the University of Western Ontario, the University of Southern California, and the University of British Columbia, and I was awarded several top prizes and scholarships at all three universities. I am also a Mason & Hamlin Artist. For my doctoral degree, I concentrated on the music of J. S. Bach, and that focus has continued through to this day.
After completing my degrees, I have taught piano privately and at university, given masterclasses and lectures, written about music in various formats, composed electronic music, transcribed and edited music, and pursued other interests, including doing a semester of law school. Aside from solo keyboard music, I enjoy working with singers.
Performing and recording, for various reasons, have never really been of great interest to me. Practising and studying privately, and sharing what I have learned with other people, is how I prefer to engage with music.
You will find a few samples of my playing below, and also a link to my album available on Apple Music.
