J. S. Bach - Partita 2
This is a keyboard score of J. S. Bach’s Partita 2, BWV 826, based on the first complete edition published in 1731. This score was edited and engraved by Dr. Dominic Florence, and is presented without fingering or other editorial additions to preserve the original intentions of the composer.
J. S. Bach’s partitas are some of his most popular and rewarding pieces. They are made of dance movements inspired by various European traditions. This score is the second partita, which is in C minor. The well-known three-part opening movement begins with a stately and powerful introduction, followed by an intricate melodic middle section, and ends with a rousing fugal section. The other dances in Partita 2 include the simple yet beautiful Sarabande, and the fiendishly difficult Capriccio.
